#5 Midwestern State totaled more than 600 yards of offense while keeping the Falcons to just one touchdown in a 66-8 defeat of UTPB Saturday night at Grande Stadium in Midland, Texas.
Marquis Simmons paced the UTPB offense, running for 133 yards on 28 carries with a touchdown on the night.
Simmons carried in from 27 yards out for the score, his second of the season in consecutive weeks, with 8:03 remaining in the second quarter.
Midwestern State used big plays in the first half to establish a 38-6 halftime advantage, scoring its second touchdown along the sideline on a 94-yard pass to DeAndre Black, and adding a 62 yard run by Vincent Johnson for a 24-0 lead.
MSU QB Layton Rabb ended the night with five TDs on 28 yards, while Black caught two scores on 177 yards on seven receptions. Tyler Milliken added three touchdowns on five catches for 110 yards, and Tyrique Edwards added a pair of touchdown receptions.
Brandon Infiesto added 75 yards on 16 rushes as the Falcons ran the ball 54 times for 253 yards.
Mitchell Leonard added six catches for 45 yards, and
Jake Anglin caught five passes for 43 yards.
The Falcons return to the road next weekend, traveling to Commerce, Texas, for a 4 p.m. kickoff at Texas A&M - Commerce.
