Falcons Close Out Road Schedule at #9 Texas A&M - Commerce

11/4/2017 6:39:00 PM

Box Score #9 Texas A&M - Commerce held UT Permian Basin scoreless Saturday afternoon in a 52-0 loss in the team's last road game of the season.

The Falcons looked to be picking up momentum in the second quarter. UTPB drove the ball down the field on its third drive of the game, getting down to the Commerce 1-yard line, but got held up twice on the goal line rushing the ball for the turnover on downs.

UTPB forced its first turnover on the game on Commerce's second play of the next drive when AJ Fano strip-sacked quarterback Luis Perez and Ray Dinnal-Guerra came up with possession deep in Lion territory on the Commerce 13.

UTPB was unable to take advantage of the close possession after a pair of sacks and incompletions led to a turnover on downs at the TAMUC 28.
The Falcons took the ball back over on its own 44 early in the second quarter when it forced the Lion offense to stall out at midfield when Keegan Gray tackled Carandal Hale in open space at the line of scrimmage on 4-10.

Texas A&M - Commerce held the Falcon offense to 125 yards on the day, moving for almost 600 yards itself. Jordan Williams led the Falcons with 28 yards on five carries in the fourth quarter and Kristian Brown had four catches for 29 yards as the Falcons ran the ball 45 times to 28 pass attempts.

Perez threw for four scores on the afternoon on 26-34 passing and 301 yards in a little over a half of action for the Lions.

UTPB returns home for its final game of the season next Saturday. The Falcons will recognize its senior class of 2017 in a pre-game ceremony before the 6 p.m. kick off against Angelo State.
