2018: Gray played in 11 games as a junior where he ended the season second on the defense with 89 tackles. He added 14 tackles-for-loss, had one sack and two interceptions. He was named Lone Star Conference Honorable Mention for 2018. He had two tackles, a four-yard tackle-for-loss and an interception at Texas Southern. He made five tackles and 1.5 tackles-for-loss at Northern Michigan. He had seven tackles against MSU Texas. Gray made double-digit tackles for the first time of the year with 10 tackles at Tarleton. He made seven tackles with an interception against Western New Mexico. He made nine tackles with two tackles-for-loss at West Texas A&M. Gray made nine tackles and had one sack for seven yards against Humboldt State. He had one tackle-for-loss and nine tackles against Angelo State. He had 10 tackles and three tackles-for-loss at Eastern New Mexico. Gray recorded a season-high 12 tackles with one tackle-for-loss against Texas A&M - Commerce. He made nine tackles with two tackles-for loss against Texas A&M - Kingsville.

2017: Gray played in 11 games as a sophomore and finished the season second on team with 96 tackles, first with 18.5 tackles-for-loss, had one sack, made a team-high 11 QB hits, had three forced fumbles and made one fumble recovery. He was named Lone Star Conference Honorable Mention. He made eight tackles and forced a fumble against Sul Ross. He made 15 tackles and recovered a fumble at Lamar. He forced a fumble and made 10 tackles at West Texas A&M. Gray forced a fumble and made eight tackles at Eastern New Mexico. He had 16 tackles with 0.5 sacks against Texas A&M - Kingsville. He made nine tackles at Texas A&M - Commerce.
 
 
2016: Gray played in 11 games as a freshman and ranked fifth on the team with 58 tackles. He was second on the Falcons with 10.5 tackles-for-loss for 33 yards. He added 1.5 sacks for eight yards, had four QB hurries and one pass break-up. Gray opened the season with three tackles and three QB hurries with one tackle-for-loss for two yards against Sul Ross. He had three tackles against Arizona Christian. He made four tackles with one tackle-for-loss for two yards against West Texas A&M. He tied his season-high with nine tackles for a season-best 3.5 tackles-for-loss for 13 yards against Western New Mexico. He recorded five tackles against Tarleton with 1.5 tackles-for-loss for three yards. He made six tackles against Eastern New Mexico. Gray had nine tackles against Texas A&M - Kingsville. He made seven tackles with 0.5 sacks for three yards and 1.5 tackles-for-loss for seven yards against Oklahoma Panhandle State. He ended the year with six tackles, including a sack for five yards against Angelo State
