Despite the cold temps and wind chills that have everyone clinching their coats, it is baseball season in West Texas. The UT Permian Basin Falcon will host its home opener for the 2023 spring season vs conference foe Lubbock Christian University.
Here is what you need to know if you want to go:
 
WHERE IS THE BALL PARK?
Roden Field is home to the Falcons and it is tucked away in the heart of the UTPB property. The best way to get there is to turn onto campus at the light off of 42^nd Street/HWY 191 near the UTPB Softball Complex (across from Stripes). That street is Preston Smith Road. Once you are on campus you will start to approach the Stonehenge Replica. Across the street from Stonehenge is a large yellowish colored limestone rock. That is where you want to turn. You take the next right and straight on toward the Duck Pond and the Duck Pond parking area, which is also, the baseball field parking area. (See map attached to this story.)
 
WHEN ARE THE GAMES?
The entire schedule can be found on the UTPB Athletics Baseball Page. For this season, the format will be one game on Friday, two games on Saturday, and one game on Sunday. The best place to keep up with all the Falcon action is the UTPB Athletics App. Here is the home baseball schedule:
