ODESSA, Texas (July 21, 2025) –
Isabella Campos (Women's Soccer) and
Jack Haggerty (Baseball) have each earned prestigious degree completion awards from the NCAA and the Lone Star Conference, respectively. Each year the NCAA and Lone Star Conference provide opportunities for student-athletes to apply for degree completion awards that assist in funding the remaining credit hours to graduate.
Isabella Campos, who completed her final soccer season in the Fall of 2024, will apply the funds from this award to her final semester credit hours in order to graduate in December of 2025. Campos has a perfect 4.0 GPA going into her final courses in Health and Human Performance. The NCAA established the Division II Degree Completion Award Program in 2001 to provide deserving student-athletes who have exhausted their athletics eligibility with financial assistance to complete their first baccalaureate degree.
Jack Haggerty played his last game in a Falcon baseball uniform this Spring and will complete his Land Management degree in December 2025. In its 17th year, the purpose of the LSC Degree Completion Scholarship Program is to provide financial assistance for completion of a first baccalaureate degree to deserving student-athletes in the conference.
Both of these programs provide valuable assistance to student-athletes and rewards the hard work put in on the field/court, in the classroom and in the community.
"We are grateful to the NCAA and the Lone Star Conference for the funds that will assist in the completion of the undergraduate degrees for Isabella and Jack," said UTPB's Deputy Athletic Director / Senior Woman Administrator
Sarah Ramey. "They are both hardworking and dedicated to being the best they can be in the classroom, sport and in life."
"Isabella and Jack are both outstanding student-athletes, and I am so proud of their accomplishments," said UTPB's Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance and Student Success
Kelci Martinez. "They have made a huge impact on the athletic department and leave behind their legacy for all future Falcons to follow. We are grateful for their hard work and leadership both on and off the field, and the dedication to their academics. We are extremely thankful for the NCAA and the Lone Star Conference for providing the funds to support Isabella and Jack to complete their undergraduate degrees."
