ODESSA, Texas (March 28, 2025) – It was a strong showing as The University of Texas Permian Basin women's tennis team beat Cameron University for the first time in program history, winning by a score of 5-2 on Friday morning at the Ratliff Stadium Complex Tennis Courts in Odessa, Texas. It was both the 2025 home opener and Lone Star Conference opener for the Falcons.

Despite Fanny Bergstrom and Rhea Singh falling 6-2 against the No. 2 nationally-ranked doubles pair in NCAA Division II, Jenna Goessel and Anastasia Uspenskaia, the Falcons were able to win the doubles point as Paige Bott and Brooke Runyan finished it off with a 6-3 win over Martyna Jankowska and Mara Vidal at No. 2 doubles.

Bergstrom defeated Anna Deuringer 6-3, 6-4 at No. 4 singles to give the Falcons a 3-1 lead and Dinethya Dharmaratne clinched the match with a 6-0, 6-0 win over Vidal at No. 6 singles.
