SURPRISE, Ariz. (January 31, 2025) – The No. 25 nationally-ranked University of Texas Permian Basin men's tennis team and new Head Coach
Chris Tolson kicked off their 2025 season in strong fashion with a 7-0 sweep over NAIA Ottawa University Arizona.

Jonas Krahofer teamed up for a 6-0 sweep at No. 1 doubles.
After winning doubles in 1-2-3 fashion, UTPB saw junior
Sergio Alejandro Gonzalez Ibanez and sophomore
Lucas Nitzschke make it a 3-0 lead with wins at No. 4 and No. 5 singles, respectively. Gonzalez Ibanez gave up just one game in his 6-0, 6-1 victory.

Grzegorz Rudnicki clinched the match with a 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 2 singles, the same score that Nitzschke won by in the No. 5 spot.

Next Up: The Falcons will remain on the road in Arizona tomorrow to battle one of the top teams in the NAIA, No. 22 Arizona Christian University. The match will start at 2:15 p.m. Central Time / 1:15 p.m. Mountain Time on Saturday, February 1.
