FALCONS IMPROVE TO 2-0 WITH DOMINATING WIN OVER SUL ROSS

All 12 of the University of Texas of the Permian Basin women's basketball players scored at least two points in the Falcons' 102-50 win over Sul Ross, marking the largest margin of victory in school history.

The Falcons led 54-21 at the half and with the starters out of action for most of the second half, UTPB still scored 48 points in the final period to improve to 2-0 on the season.

Five different players scored in double-figures with Lauren Unger leading the way with 16 points, hitting 6-of-16 from the field, including 4-of-12 from behind the three-point line. Miesha Blackshear added 14 points and four steals, while Teisha King and Taja Tanner put in 12. Cashena Mathis hit 4-of-11 shots from the field for 11 points and pulled down seven rebounds.

Not only were the Falcons impressive offensively, they also pulled down 70 rebounds, led by Liseth Orrego's 11 and Taja Turner's 10 boards. UTPB continues to make a living defensively as it tallied 29 steals and now have a total of 48 for the year.

The Falcons will stay on the road as they face Abilene Christian today at 5:30 p.m. and will try to improve to 3-0 for the first time in school history.
