Allyson Reed scores first international goal, nets two for Honduras in draw

3/5/2026 4:30:00 PM

Sophomore forward Allyson Reed returned to the Honduras international team for CONCACAF W Championship qualifiers against Trinidad and Tobago on Wednesday night, and it was a night to remember as Reed scored her first two international goals. The Group F matchup had major implications for either team to challenge El Salvador who sat at the top of the group headed into the evening. Reed's selection was her second cap and start for the competition and her career.

In the ninth minute, Reed picked up a pass from her Honduran teammate who was going to ground under pressure from the defense. She cut past a defender onto her left foot and curled a ball into the far post under the crossbar past the Trinidad goalkeeper. The well-placed shot was Reed's first international goal.

In the 21st minute, Reed positioned herself on the far side of the pitch while her teammates combined to cross the ball into the back post. Reed timed her run to remain onside and ran in unmarked. The cross found her on the back post and with a half volley slotted it past the keeper. Even after appeal from the Trinidad and Tobago touchline, the goal stood and Reed had a brace.

Trinidad and Tobago would end up equalizing in the second half to end the match 2-2. Each team will receive a point for their efforts, but unfortunately will eliminate Honduras from winning the group.

The University of Texas Permian Basin head coach Garrett Kull had this to say, "I just think it's amazing. Allyson was a big part of our success last Fall, and now seeing her score on the international stage is such a feat. We've seen her putting in the work all Spring and we're happy that our offseason program had her ready to perform on the biggest stage. We couldn't be prouder of her."

Reed will most likely return for Honduras on April 17th as Honduras will take on last place Barbados who has allowed 18 goals through two matches.
