Garrett Kull was announced as the fifth head coach in UT Permian Basin Women's Soccer history on December 23, 2024. In three seasons as a collegiate head soccer coach at UTPB and Oklahoma Pandale State University, Kull has a career record of 10-30-6.

UTPB wrapped up year one (2025) of the Kull era 3-10-3 overall and 2-10-2 in the Lone Star Conference. The Falcons went until the very last match of the season without giving up three goals in a match, and set a new program record for goals allowed and goals-against average in a single season. UTPB carried a 1.00 goals-against average heading into the final week of the season and in the end, allowed 19 goals for a 1.19 goals-against average. That broke the previous records of 23 goals allowed in both 2022 and 2024 and a 1.35 goals-against average set just last season (2024). Kull earned his first win as head coach at UTPB two matches into the season when freshman outside back Trinity Vasquez scored UTPB's first goal of the season and Cassandra Ramirez added two more goals to help lead the Falcons to a 3-1 win over Wayland Baptist University (Sept. 10). Two matches later was a 3-0 win at Eastern New Mexico University (Sept. 20), representing the first win on the road and the first win in Lone Star Conference action for the Falcons under Coach Kull. In a 2-2 tie at West Texas A&M University (Oct. 15), UTPB earned its first-ever tie against the Lady Buffs and the first-ever positive result for the Falcons on the road at WT in 12 matches. Entering the final two weeks of the season, the Falcons set a program record in the NCAA Division II era with 40 shot attempts in a 2-0 home win over Sul Ross State University (Oct. 22), earning the Falcons’ second conference victory of the season. The record-breaking match against the Lobos also represented the 10th career win as a collegiate head soccer coach for Coach Kull. The final week of the season for UTPB was highlighted by the fourth goal of the season and 10th-career goal for forward Cassandra Ramirez at Midwestern State University (Oct. 29) and a career-best 11 saves by goalkeeper Valeria Delgado in the season-finale vs. St. Mary's University (Nov. 1). Delgado was named Academic All-Conference at the end of the season and held many high rankings in the LSC: 1.24 goals-against average (9th in conference), 93 saves (2nd in conference), .830 save percentage (4th in conference), and 5.81 saves per game (3rd in conference).

Kull brings a wealth of experience and success to the Falcons’ program with a decade of experience at the NCAA DI, DII, DIII and NAIA levels. He comes to UTPB from Oklahoma Panhandle State University (OPSU), where he served as the head men’s soccer coach for two seasons (2023-24). In 2023, Kull led the Aggies to their third-winningest season in program history (5-9-1), the program’s first win against an NCAA DII opponent, and the most College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Teams selections in the conference.

Kull came to OPSU after serving as the men's assistant coach at Lehigh University (2022). Prior to his time with the Mountain Hawks, Kull was the assistant men's coach and recruiting coordinator at the South Dakota School of Mines & Technology (2020-21) and the assistant men's coach and reserves coach at Schreiner University (2018-19). He also served as a volunteer assistant women’s soccer coach at both Lehigh (2022) and OPSU (2024) before now taking over the women’s program at UTPB.

At the collegiate level, Kull has established himself as a program builder and valued assistant. At Lehigh, he oversaw the goalkeepers which finished the 2022 season 22nd nationally in saves per game with a goalkeeper named Conference Rookie of the Week and another goalkeeper receive honorable mention for Conference Goalkeeper of the Week twice. He played an integral part in implementing new technologies including the program's video analysis system and monitoring/analyzing player data. He was also an asset in recruiting and continued to grow the Lehigh Soccer Academy summer camps.

At Mines, Kull developed a national strategy that signed 13 players from 10 different states in two years during and post COVID-19. As the team's tactician, he implemented a style of play that tied the best start in program history including the most goals through the first three games, coached two Second-Team All-Conference players, and a goalkeeper who finished second nationally in saves. Kull began his collegiate coaching career at Schreiner with both the school's first and reserve teams and focused on academic monitoring with 26 recognized conference Honor Roll student-athletes.

Kull has also remained committed to growing the game locally with numerous positions with different clubs. Most recently he served as a head coach at Lehigh Valley United as the club transitioned to the Elite Club National League and Regional League. At the high school level, Kull has seen success as both a head coach and assistant coach. As the Head Boys' Varsity Soccer Coach at Our Lady of the Hills College Prep (2018-19), he led a program to back-to-back Texas private school state playoffs, had three players selected to All-State, and finished with a winning coaching record. He also spends his summers as a staff coach for the Texas A&M Aggie Youth Summer Camps for over five years.

A native of San Antonio, Texas, Kull grew up in Prattville, Alabama, where he received All-Metro honors for Prattville High School '14. He graduated from Huntingdon College '18 in Montgomery, Alabama, where he played as both a field player and goalkeeper. He has elected to continue his education at Liberty University, pursuing a master's in sports management. He currently holds a U.S. Soccer D-License and multiple United Soccer Coaches diplomas in areas of player development, tactics, and psychology.
