ODESSA, Texas (August 11, 2025) – With a major rebuild underway this spring, The University of Texas Permian Basin Head Women's Soccer Coach
Garrett Kull and his staff focused their sights on reestablishing ties within the state of Texas. The result, the Falcons will welcome nine Texans as freshmen to their roster this Fall.
Coach Kull spoke about the rich talent available in Texas, saying, "There is just so much talent here that you do not have to travel far to find good players. We have been able to find success in some major markets while also finding that talent that may have been overlooked."
The class will feature players as far east as the I-35 corridor to El Paso, Texas. The Falcons will also welcome an Odessa native to the squad,
Alexia Hernandez from Odessa High School.
The following commitments are:
Ailene Rodarte – Fr. – Copperas Cove, Texas
Rodarte arrives to UTPB from Copperas Cove High School in Texas where she featured as a four-year varsity starter and three-year varsity captain while also being named the team's Midfielder of the Year and Offensive Player of the Year. She also received First-Team All-District, All-State and TASCO All-Academic Team honors. At the club level, Rodarte represented Lonestar SC on their ECRL 06/07 team for two years.
Alexia Hernandez – Fr. – Odessa, Texas
Hernandez was a standout goalkeeper for Odessa High School, where she was a multisport athlete in softball and was also a state level powerlifter, all while also representing the Lady Bronchos in the Decathlon and twice placing second on the Spelling and Definitions Team. She was a three-time First-Team All-District player, a two-time District Goalkeeper of the Year with a unanimous selection her senior year, and was a four-time Academic All-District awardee. She also received the 2025 Award for Excellence in Athletics for Odessa High School and was a two-time ECNL Player of the Week.
Alexis Saucedo – Fr. - Horizon City, Texas
From Horizon City, Texas, Saucedo represents both Del Valle High School and El Paso Surf SC. In her high school career, she helped guide Del Valle to four straight District Champions, two Area Championships and a Regional Semifinal. She received the All-District Defensive MVP, was a two-time First-Team All-District player, was the school's Defensive MVP three times, and played in the PREP1 Senior All-Star Soccer Showcase. She will also represent El Paso Surf in the Women's Professional Soccer League and Development Player League at Nationals this summer.
Emily Morales – Fr. – El Paso, Texas
The El Paso, Texas, native comes to the Falcons after representing Jefferson High School on varsity since her freshmen year. At Jefferson, she was a four-time All-District honoree with three mentions to the First-Team, was a four-time Academic All-District honoree, was a District Co-MVP at midfielder, and was her team's Offensive MVP the past two seasons. Morales has also been selected for the Sueño Alizaña National Team, the Surf National Team, the South Texas Surf Select team for five years, and the PREP1 Senior All-Star Soccer Showcase. She will also represent El Paso Surf in the Women's Professional Soccer League and Development Player League at Nationals this summer.
Mikaela Corral – Fr. – Cypress, Texas
Corral's commitment to the Falcons comes after representing Challenge SC at the ECNL level. The Tomball High School graduate made her mark by helping the team reach the Regional Semifinals in 2022 and was also named TASCO Academic All-Region this past season. She was also awarded Second-Team All-District, was Honorable Mention All-District Team in 2023, and was named Academic All-District in 2023-2024.
Molly King – Fr. – Fort Worth, Texas
A signee from V.R. Eaton High School, King was a two-year varsity captain. She was also a First-Team All-District awardee and Honorable Mention All-District her junior year. King was also a member of the Dallas Surf ECRL team.
Natalie Shipp – Fr. – Carrolton, Texas
Shipp will join the Falcons after representing the Dallas Texans and Creekview High School. At the club level, she was named the ECRL Player of the Week this past season and was Utility Player and First-Team All-District for Creekview this past year. Previously, she was also Second-Team All-District Honorable Mention All-District. Off the field, she also was a member of the National Honor Society and received the Crimson Honor for Citizenship, and was a two-time winner of the Crimson Honor for Excellence.
Sarah Williams – Fr. – Abilene, Texas
The Wylie High School product comes to the Falcons after a storied high school career and represented Sting West Texas at the club level. Over four years on varsity, Williams led her team in scoring as a senior and led the district in assists as a junior. She was the All-District Utility Player of the Year last year and a three-time All-District awardee. Her freshmen year she was voted District Newcomer of the Year and was a two-time Academic All-State member.
Trinity Garcia – Fr. – Copperas Cove, Texas
Garcia will join her high school teammate this Fall for the Falcons. Her time at Copperas Cove was marked by earning the team's Most Improved Award as a sophomore and then Honorable Mention All-District as a junior. In her senior season, she earned First-Team All-District honors, was named to the District's Starting 11 for the Team of the Month in January, and helped guide her team to the first round of the State Tournament.
