ABILENE, Texas (March 21, 2025) – In one of their final matches before Lone Star Conference play, UT Permian Basin men's tennis cruised to a 7-0 win over NCAA Division III Hardin-Simmons University.
In doubles,
Jonas Krahofer and
Jonathan Vega (No. 1 doubles) and
Sergio Alejandro Gonzalez Ibanez and
Lucas Nitzschke (No. 3 doubles) both won by a score of 6-1. Gonzalez Ibanez and Nitzschke are now 4-1 this season at No. 3 singles while Krahofer and Vega improved to 5-0 together and 4-0 at No. 1 doubles.
In singles,
Grzegorz Rudnicki (UTPB) won 6-1, 6-1 at the No. 3 spot; Krahofer won 6-0, 6-1 at No. 4 singles; and Nitzschke won 6-3, 6-1 at No. 5 singles. Krahofer is now 4-0 at No. 4 singles and 7-1 overall in singles on the year.

- UTPB improves to 5-3 and HSU falls to 5-7. It was the Falcons' sixth-straight win over the Cowboys since 2013, including the last three in Abilene.
Next Up: After an exhibition match at NCAA Division I Abilene Christian University at 12 p.m. on Saturday, March 22, UT Permian Basin plays its first home match and first Lone Star Conference match of the season on Friday, March 28, against Cameron University. The match will be played at the Ratliff Stadium Complex Tennis Courts starting at 10 a.m.
