Saucedo Selected to DPL Perform International Squad

12/3/2025 3:00:00 PM

The path to playing college soccer takes many different forms, and for freshmen defender Alexis Saucedo, part of that journey unlocked a new opportunity.

Saucedo was a standout for El Paso Surf in the Development Player League which helped her garner attention from the UTPB coaching staff. She was selected to the DPL National Game as a part of their Perform pathway that sees players identified and selected at national events throughout the year by independent scouts. In that game, her standout performance led to her selection to the DPL Perform International Squad that would travel to Rome to take on some of the most notable teams in Italy such in the likes of AS Roma and Lazio.

Saucedo said, "Being selected to play on this team was a blessing! I loved getting to explore one of my dream cities and country while getting to play against some very talented Italian team like the AS Roma Academy. Overall, an unforgettable experience!"

"It's always amazing to see the doors this game can unlock", said head women's soccer coach Garrett Kull. "What a terrific experience that I'm sure will provide a lifetime of memories! We're incredibly proud of her and hope that she enjoyed every moment of her journey! She's an amazing individual and I'm happy she was able to represent UTPB internationally."
