The University of Texas Permian Basin Women's Soccer team's season may be over, but for junior attacker
Allyson Reed, more soccer is still in her future.
After the conclusion of the final game, Reed made her way to Honduras to attend a national team minicamp ahead of World Cup Qualifiers this December. It was after that minicamp that Reed learned that she had been "called-up"/selected for the Honduras National Team to participate in those qualifiers with her first match being on December 2nd against El Salvador.
Reed said, "From dreaming it to living it, I'm honored to wear the Honduras badge."
Head women's soccer coach
Garrett Kull added, "What a remarkable accomplishment and opportunity for Allyson! We are extremely proud of her and speaks to the talent we have in this program. She will be the second player in my tenure here at UTPB to make a national team (the first being
Sophie Dionissiou for Cyprus last spring), and we couldn't be more honored to have her represent the Falcons on the world stage!"
Reed is a transfer junior who made her way to UTPB after starting her career at Angelo State where she received a Lonestar Conference Freshmen Team honor. This past season, she amassed 48 shots with 21 on goal in 800 minutes of play. She also tallied 2 goals on the season.
