ODESSA, Texas (January 13, 2025) – After being announced as the Falcons' Interim Head Men's and Women's Swimming & Diving Coach back on August 8, Brian Schroeder has been announced as the official Head Coach of the Falcons by Vice President for Athletics Scott Larson.

"Brian has demonstrated a tremendous passion for both UTPB as well as the sport of swimming and diving and truly deserves to have the interim tag removed from his title," said Larson. "As an alum, he is a true champion for the program. I am thrilled that he has agreed to remain the head coach on a permanent basis."

During the Fall 2024 season, the UTPB men's swimming & diving team was 5-1 in dual meets to go along with wins at the Hendrix Relays and the Hendrix Classic and a second-place finish at the Tiger Invitational. The Falcons' women's team, meanwhile, was 3-3 in dual meets while finishing second at the Hendrix Classic and fifth at both the Hendrix Relays and the Tiger Invitational.

Following their double dual meet against McMurry University and Austin College in their final action of the Fall season, sophomore Colin Doyle was named the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Men's Swimmer of the Week while senior Kathe Hepfer earned the RMAC Women's Diver of the Week award. This was the first time in program history that a swimmer from the UTPB men's or women's swimming & diving programs had been recognized by the RMAC with a weekly award. It was also the first time UTPB earned two RMAC awards in the same week in program history.

"I'm truly excited to continue working with and leading this team of young adults," said Schroeder. "I want to see them succeed in all endeavors, and I'm here to help foster that success. Falcons up."

Schroeder swam for the Falcons from 2006-2010 and served as team captain during his final two years (2008-2010). Schroeder graduated from UTPB with his Master's degree in Professional Accountancy in August 2012.

Schroeder met his wife, Kelly, during their time as swimmers at UTPB. Brian and Kelly have been married for 14 years and have three kids together: Kyle, Peyton, and Riley.

Please join us in congratulating Coach Brian Schroeder on being officially named as the Falcons' Head Men's and Women's Swimming & Diving Coach.
