MIDLAND, Texas - The University of Texas Permian Basin men's tennis team saw their six-match winning streak end on Saturday against No. 23 Midwestern State at Bush Tennis Center in Midland, Texas.

"In the 30 mph constant winds, it's all about who plays less ugly. Unfortunately for us, Midwestern played a lot less ugly than we did," said head coach Alex Hunt. "They deserved the win today for handling the conditions better than us, so congrats to them. Our focus now shifts to recovering physically from the past few weeks of intense play. Our focus is now solely on St Mary's on April 21 out at Bush Tennis Center."

Facing constant winds the Mustangs took the doubles point even though Takumi Katsuda and Lucas Nitzschke won their match on court three, 7-6 (7-4).

Singles were close with four of the six matches going to a third set. Vitaliy Horovoy won on court one 6-4, 5-7, 7-5. The Falcons also took the matches on courts three and four. Jonathan Vega came away victorious, 6-3, 2-6, 6-3, while Jonas Krahofer also picked up a 7-6 (7-5), 2-6, 7-6 (10-8) win in the end.

The Falcons are off for a week before returning against St. Mary's in their season finale on April 21.
