ARLINGTON, Texas - The University of Texas Permian Basin women's tennis team fell to No. 6 Midwestern State, 4-0, in the Lone Star Conference Championship Quarterfinals at the Arlington Tennis Center on Thursday.

"I'm very proud of these girls for qualifying for the conference tournament," said head coach Alex Hunt. "With all the setbacks we've had this year, it's so impressive they were able to improve upon last year. We are instituting a complete change in mindset as we move forward. Check back in with us at this point next year and see where we are. Big changes and big improvements are coming."
 
On court one in doubles, Teodora Vrucan and Mattea Bowe battled to an all-square 5-5 before their match went unfinished when the Mustangs picked up wins on two and three.
 
Tuva Asplund was ahead in the second set after a close first but her match went unfinished at, 4-6, 5-2. The Falcons fell on courts one, two, and five in straight sets.
