Guitton, Krahofer named to All-Academic Team

ODESSA, Texas – UT Permian Basin women's and men's tennis players, Lisa Guitton and Jonas Krahofer showed that they don't just excel on the court, as it was announced today (Apr. 24) that they were named to the Lone Star Conference All-Academic Team.
 
"Having Jonas and Lisa both named to the All-Academic team means a lot," said Head Women's and Men's Tennis Coach Alex Hunt. "Both of them have represented UTPB Tennis very well over the years out on the court, so it's great to see them also receive this great recognition for their efforts in the classroom. This goes to show just how well-rounded they are."
 
Guitton, (3.95 GPA, Exercise Science MS) has been named to the Commissioner's honor roll nine times. She has seven school records at UTPB, a few being; having the most doubles wins as individual (22), 15 of those wins coming with Brooke Runyan. The duo also has the highest winning percentage .652 at UTPB and most doubles wins (11) in a single season.
 
Krahofer (3.94, Exercise Science BS) was named to the Commissioner's honor roll in the Fall of 2023. He is currently ranked the 16th men's doubles player in ITA Tennis Rankings, alongside partner Takumi Katsuda. Krahofer was crowned ITA South Central Regional Doubles Champion with Katsuda and went on to ITA Regionals where the duo finished 2-1, beating the No. 1 seed in their final match of the tournament. They finished the fall ranked the No. 8 doubles team in the nation and No. 1 doubles team in the South-Central Region.
 
The LSC Women's and Men's Tennis All-Academic team is selected by the conference sports information directors and recognizes individuals for high-level athletic and academic achievement. To be eligible for LSC academic honors, student-athletes must have played in at least 50 percent of their team's contests; reached sophomore athletic and academic standing; completed at least one full academic year at the nominating institution; and have a minimum 3.30 cumulative grade-point average over their collegiate career.
