FORT SMITH, Arkansas - The University of Texas Permian Basin men's tennis team moved to 5-0 in Lone Star Conference play with a 6-1 win over Arkansas - Fort Smith on Saturday.

"I'm proud of the guys today. We took care of business the entire five hours," said head coach
Alex Hunt. "We avenged a loss from last year so, again today, we saw strong evidence of the progress we are making as a team. Our eyes are already on next week as we take on LCU and Midwestern."

Takumi Katsuda and
Lucas Nitzschke got things going in doubles with a 6-0 win on court three.
Vitaliy Horovoy and
Jonathan Vega clinched the point with a 6-2 win on court two.

UTPB won in singles handily on courts four, five, and six.
Grzegorz Rudnicki picked up a 6-4, 6-3 win on court four while
Jonas Krahofer pulled off a 6-3, 6-4 win on court five. Nitzschke earned the win on six 6-2, 6-1 to close out the strong play on those courts.

Katsuda won a close match on court two, 7-6 (7-3), 7-5 while
Jonathan Vega came-from-behind on court three to win 2-6, 6-2, 6-2.

The Falcons are back in action next Thursday, April 4 as they host Lubbock Christian at the Bush Tennis Center in Midland.
