SANDESTIN, Fla. – Junior Ainhoa Gurruchaga and sophomore Arnie Taguines are among the top six as The University of Texas Permian Basin women's golf team closed out Day 1 of the Emerald Coast Collegiate. 

The tournament is being played at Baytowne Golf Club, a Par 71 with a total yardage of 5,881 yards.

#6 Flagler shot +6 (290) and lead by seven strokes over #7 Central Missouri.  Rounding out the top five are #10 St. Mary's (Texas) (3^rd - 302, +18), UT Permian Basin (4^th – 303, +19) and Wayne State (Mich.) (5^th – 305, +21).

Individually, Rebecca Reed of St. Mary's (Texas) shot -2 (69) and leads by a stroke over Gurruchaga and Henriette Stranda (Flagler).

Gurruchaga leads in Par 3 Scoring at 2.60 and is tied for second in Par 4 Scoring at 4.00 and Pars with 15.

Taguines is tied for sixth at +1 (72).  She is tied for third in Par 3 Scoring at 2.80 and is among the top 10 in pars (13).

Junior Gabriela Maldonado is tied for 53^rd at +9 (80).

Freshman Katrin Davidsdottir is tied for 58^th at +10 (81).

Freshman Amanda Davidsson is tied for 86^th at +15 (86).

UT Permian Basin remains at the Emerald Coast Collegiate, Monday, Mar. 11.
