ROCKWALL, Texas (April 14, 2026) – The University of Texas Permian Basin women's golf team finished up its 2025-26 season at the Lone Star Conference Women's Golf Championship.
13th-place UTPB (329-330-314; 973; +109) shot plus-26 during the third and final round, 15 strokes better than its previous best score during round one. The Falcons also finished eight strokes better than their score a year ago at the LSC Championship (981) at the same golf course.
The Falcons were one of four teams to shoot its best round of the tournament during round three, and were one of eight teams to improve their score from round two to round three.
UTPB finished the tournament behind 12th-place Cameron University (324-321-305; 950; +86), 11th-place Western New Mexico University (313-307-311; 931; +67) and 10th-place Texas A&M International University (306-309-313; 928; +64). The Dustdevils were just one stroke better than UTPB during the final round.
Lorena Etxeberria (79-76-77; 232; +16) and
Lakshita Pragnya (78-78-77; 233; +17) both shot five-over-par during round three and finished just one stroke away from each other. Etxeberria tied for 37th place after tying for 49th as a freshman last year, and Pragnya was UTPB's most consistent golfer in this tournament and finished alone in 40th place as a freshman this year.
Statistically, Pragnya was tied for 18th with seven birdies while Etxeberria was tied for 28th in both birdies (6) and pars (30). In addition, Etxeberria tied for 21st in par-5 scoring (5.00; E) and Pragnya tied for 23rd in par-3 scoring (3.25; +3).
Carlota Gutierrez (87-90-77; 254; +38) and
Nat Armenta (88-86-83; 257; +41) finished back-to-back in 57th and 58th place, and
Ella Veretto (85-90-86; 261; +45) finished 60th.

Paul Chavez said, "We played extremely well today, unfortunately we put ourselves behind after day one. Everyone improved their score today. There is lots to look forward to in the future."
The tournament marked the end of the 2025-26 season for the Falcons.
