UTPB Adds To Record Book At RMAC

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. – Once again, the divers led the charge as The University of Texas Permian Basin women's swimming & diving team closed out Day 4 of the RMAC Championships, Friday at El Pomar Natatorium.

Colorado Mesa has scored 938 points and leads by 444.50 points over Colorado School of Mines.  Rounding out the top five are Simon Fraser (3rd – 452.50 points), Oklahoma Christian (4th - 375 points) and Western Colorado (5th – 308 points).  UTPB is in sixth place with 262 points.

Freshman Emi Goto scored 408.77 points to place third on the 3M board.  She was followed by junior Kathe Hepfer (5th – 389.41 points), sophomore Delaney Murphy (6th – 377.45 points), freshman Tayler Davis (7th – 354.37 points), and sophomore Camilla Aguilar (8th – 326.85 points).

The 200-yard freestyle relay team of sophomore Gabriela Gonzalez, senior Ava Reaume, sophomore Emma Gerhart and senior Avery Joiner finished fifth (1:39.07).  That is the fourth fastest time in UTPB history.  Additionally, Gonzalez swam 24.49 on the opening leg, the sixth fastest 50 free time in program history.

UT Permian Basin closes out the RMAC Championships, Saturday, Feb. 17.  Prelims start at 10:00 a.m. with finals at 5:30 p.m.
