INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (March 11, 2025) – Senior Kathe Hepfer and junior Camilla Aguilar officially closed out the 2024-25 UT Permian Basin swimming & diving season by competing at the NCAA DII Women's Swimming & Diving Championship Diving Qualification Meet at the IU Natatorium in Indianapolis, Indiana.

In the 1-meter event, Hepfer was 44th with a total score of 152.20 and a top dive worth 31.20 points on an inward 1 1/2 somersault pike (403B) on her final dive. Aguilar was 45th with a total score of 142.85 and a top dive of 29.90 points for a back 1 1/2 somersault pike (203B) on her fourth attempt.

In the 3-meter dive, Aguilar was 38th with a total score of 180.45 and a top dive of 36.30 points for a back 1 1/2 somersault pike (203 B), the same top dive from her performance in the 1-meter and also on the fourth attempt. Hepfer was right behind her in 39th with a score of 180.25 and a top dive worth 32.40 points on a forward 2 1/2 somersault pike (105B) on her first dive.

UTPB Head Diving Coach Anna James said, "They had a rough start on 1-meter but put together a more consistent list for 3-meter. It wasn't their best meet but considering the difficulty of competing on both 1-meter and 3-meter back-to-back with 45 girls in each event, combined with the level of talent they were up against today, I'm proud of their effort and composure throughout the competition."

Hepfer and Aguilar earned qualifying scores from at least two separate meets over the course of the season, qualifying them to the NCAA Qualification meet. The top 11 divers on each board are guaranteed a spot at the NCAA National Championship meet, and 22 women's divers in total will be selected to move forward based on placement at the end of the qualification meet after duplicates are factored in.

James concluded, "For our senior, Kathe, this was her last meet as a Falcon, and I'm so glad she got to experience it on the biggest stage DII diving has to offer. Camilla has improved so much this season. To even be eligible for this meet she had to increase the difficulty of her dives by a full point. Not only is she doing much harder dives, she is doing them well enough to compete soon after learning them. She has improved significantly this year and I still see so much potential moving forward. I am excited to see what next season will look like for her."
