UTPB Takes Tough One From Saints

2/11/2024 11:29:00 AM

SAN ANTONIO, Texas – The University of Texas Permian Basin men's tennis team (4-0) beat NAIA #20 Our Lady of the Lake (4-7) 4-3, Saturday night.

UT Permian Basin Head Coach Alex Hunt
"I'm very proud of the guys. I feel that Our Lady will be in the top 5-10 teams in the country in NAIA by the end of the year. This was an accurate representation of what top competition in D2 is and our guys rose to the occasion and clutched it out. It all came down to Jonathan's (Vega) court. The instant Jonathan felt that pressure, his level rose by defeating a stellar opponent 6-0 in the third set. This was a very exciting match."
