ARLINGTON, Texas - Freshman Chloe O'Connor and sophomore Montserrat Salazar played for a title as The University of Texas Permian Basin women's tennis team competed at the ITA South Central Regional Championships.

In the main draw of B flight doubles, O'Connor and Salazar beat Elise Carbo and Sarah Stewart of Dallas Baptist 8-6 in the semi-finals.  In the championship match, they fell just short 9-8 (9-7 tie breaker) to Milou Ter Morsche and Manuela Turolo of Texas A&M Kingsville.

In the consolation final for B flight doubles, senior Olga Guillamon-Sanmartin and junior Viktoriia Sholudko lost 8-5 to Maya Adler and Gracie Wood of Lubbock Christian.

In singles action, junior Teodora Vrucan beat Avery Durham of Angelo State 6-3, 6-2 in the consolation round of 16 of the main draw.  She lost 6-1, 6-4 in the quarterfinals to Axelle Jacquemin of Lubbock Christian.
