SAN ANTONIO, Texas – Sophomore Vitaliy Horovoy was an individual champion as The University of Texas Permian Basin men's tennis team closed out the St. Mary's Invitational.

It was a strong performance for UTPB as they went 10-2 on the day.  All matches were against Dallas Baptist.

In singles, the Falcons went 6-2.  The highlight was Horovoy clinching the flight number two championship.  He finished 3-0 in the tournament.

Picking up wins for UT Permian Basin was sophomore Takumi Katsuda (Flight 1), sophomore Grzegorz Rudnicki (Flight 3), sophomore Jonas Krahofer (Flight 4), Roberto Garcia-Arrabal, a graduate student (Flight 6) and junior Carlo Lorente-Zarate (Flight 7).

In doubles, UTPB was a perfect 4-0 with wins from Katsuda / Krahofer (Flight 1), Horovoy / Rudnicki (Flight 2), Garcia-Arrabal / freshman Lucas Nitzschke (Flight 3) and sophomore Sebastian Garcia / Lorente-Zarate (Flight 4).

UT Permian Basin will compete at the Cowboy Classic, Sept. 15-16, Friday-Saturday, in Abilene, Texas.
