8/23/2023 3:00:00 PM

The University of Texas Permian Basin will look to make some noise in the Lone Star Conference in women's cross country. The team had one runner named to the 2023 Lone Star Runners to watch.

Miranda Hernandez enters this season as a junior, coming off a season where she recorded personal best times in the 4k (17:40.9), 5k (21:37.1), and 6k (27:03.2). Her personal best time of 27:03.2 in the 6k resulted in her best finish of the season – 21st place, which she achieved at the ASU Blue & Gold Classic. Heading into her senior year, Hernandez already has a few goals she is looking to accomplish.

"I'm looking to do the best that I can with our new coach," said Hernandez. "I'm hoping to execute to the best of my ability and help my team get higher in placement."

The Falcons will kick the season off on the road on Friday, September 1st.
