Meet Olga Guillamon-Sanmartin, a women's tennis player at UTPB who is currently a senior majoring in Exercise Science. Born and raised in Spain, she identifies as Hispanic and is proud of her nationality because it gives people an insight into her identity.
"My nationality is important to my identity because it shows where I come from, how I have been raised, and the way I look at life. I have always enjoyed being Hispanic, we have a rich culture and a beautiful language," said Guillamon-Sanmartin. "Ever since I left Spain, I have even more pride in my culture and nationality. I try to celebrate my culture whenever I can!
Guillamon-Sanmartin also shared that the welcoming nature of UTPB is the best part about being a Falcon.
"What I love the most about UTPB is that no matter where you come from, you will always feel welcome here," said Guillamon-Sanmartin. "This is like a second home to me. Go UTPB Tennis! Falcons Up!"
