UTPB Swings Away In The Aloha State

WAIMEA, Hawaii – The University of Texas Permian Basin women's golf finished Day 1 of the HPU Sharks Shootout.  The tournament is being played at the Hapuna Golf Course.

Cal State San Marcos shot 285 for a +5 and lead by eight strokes over Biola.  Rounding out the top five are Sonoma State (3rd - 295, +15), Cal State L.A. (4th – 296, +16) and tied for fifth at +17 (297) are Cal State East Bay, Simon Fraser, UT Tyler.

UT Permian Basin shot 313 for a +33 and is in 14th place.

Individually, Madison Murr of Cal State San Marcos shot 68 for a -2 and leads by a stroke over Elle McCord of Northwest Nazarene and Morgan Sjoerdsma of Cal State L.A.

Junior Gabriela Maldonado is tied for 49th at +7 (77).

Sophomore Arnie Taguines is tied for 57th at +8 (78).

Junior Ainhoa Gurruchaga is tied for 57th at +8 (78).

Freshman Katrin Davidsdottir is tied for 72nd at +10 (80).

Freshman Amanda Davidsson is tied for 78th at +11 (81).

UT Permian Basin closes out the HPU Sharks Shootout, Tuesday, Oct. 24.
