AMARILLO, Texas – The University of Texas Permian Basin women's golf team is among the top 10 after day 1 of the West Texas A&M Fall Invitational.  The tournament is being played at La Paloma Golf Club, a Par-72 with a total yardage of 5,835 yards.

West Texas A&M shot 287-299 for a +18 and lead by nine strokes over Arkansas Fort Smith.  Rounding out the top five are Midwestern State (3rd – 299-297, +28), Odessa College (4th – 299-300, +31) and St. Mary's (5th – 295,306, +33).

UT Permian Basin shot 310-312 and are tied for 10th at +54.

Individually, Alli Reilly of Midwestern State (71-68) is at -3 and leads by a stroke over Gam Songprasert of West Texas A&M.

Sophomore Arnie Taguines is tied for 10th at +5 (73-74).  She has recorded 22 pars and is tied for third in Par 3 scoring at 3.00.

Junior Ainhoa Gurruchaga is tied for 28th at +11 (77-76).  She has recorded five birdies.

Junior Gabriela Maldonado is tied for 60th at +18 (79-81).

Freshman Katrin Davidsdottir is tied for 63rd at +20 (81-81).

UT Permian Basin remains in Amarillo, Tuesday, Oct. 3 to finish at the West Texas A&M Fall Invitational.
