Falcons Improve On Final Day

WICHITA FALLS, Texas – The University of Texas Permian Basin women's golf closed out the Midwestern State Invitational.  The tournament was played at Wichita Falls Country Club, a Par-72 with a total yardage of 6,021 yards.

St. Mary's (Texas) shot 297-296-285 for a +14 to win by seven strokes over Dallas Baptist.  Rounding out the top five were West Texas A&M (3rd – 308-299-304, +47), Oklahoma Christian (4th - 316-305-302, +59) and Midwestern State (5th - 309-307-310, +61)

UT Permian Basin shot 315-323-316 for a +90 to finish seventh.

Individually, Olivia Mitchell of Dallas Baptist beat Savannah Dupre of St. Mary's on the third hole of the sudden death playoff.

Sophomore Arnie Taguines tied for 20th at +14 (79-77-74).

Junior Gabriela Maldonado was 30th at +22 (74-84-80).

Junior Ainhoa Gurruchaga tied for 31st at +23 (77-84-78).

Freshman Katrin Davidsdottir was 47th at +31 (85-78-84).

UT Permian Basin is at the HPU Shark Shootout, Tuesday-Wednesday, Oct. 24-25.  The tournament is at Hapuna Golf Club.
