WICHITA FALLS, Texas – The University of Texas Permian Basin women's golf team wrapped up Day One of the Midwestern State Invitational.  The tournament is being played at Wichita Falls Country Club, a Par-72 with a total yardage of 6,021 yards.

St. Mary's (Texas) shot 297-296 for a +17 and lead by two strokes over Dallas Baptist.  Rounding out the top five are West Texas A&M (3^rd – 308-299, +31), Midwestern State (4^th – 309-307, +40) and Oklahoma Christian (5^th – 316-305, +45).

UT Permian Basin shot 315-323 for a +62 and are in seventh place.

Individually, Libby Kilbride of St. Mary's (73-73) is at +2 and leads by two strokes over Sofia Benavides of Oklahoma Christian and Ella Cheek of Dallas Baptist.

Sophomore Arnie Taguines is tied for 25^th at +12 (79-77).

Junior Gabriela Maldonado is tied for 32^nd at +14 (74-84).

Junior Ainhoa Gurruchaga is tied for 39^th at +17 (77-84).

Freshman Katrin Davidsdottir is tied for 42^nd at +19 (81-81-86).

UT Permian Basin closes out the Midwestern State Invitational, Tuesday, Oct. 17.
