Timon Kohler picked up his first win in Lone Star Conference play in singles action for UT Permian Basin on Friday. The freshman needed three sets to pull of the win in the No, 5 singles match against Cameron. Cameron came into the match No. 41 in the country.
All three of the men's doubles matches were as close as possible, decided by just two points while the No. 1 match needed a tiebreaker. Kohler picked a point for the Falcons against one of the best teams in the nation.
On the women's side the Falcons were close to one of the biggest upsets in team history against No. 10 Cameron.
Lisa Guitton and
Brooke Runyan won their doubles match, but the Falcons fell in the No. 1 match 6-4. Three of the six matches in singles action went to a third and deciding set.
Teodora Vrucan,
Krystal Smith, and
Brooke Runyan all forced a third set but couldn't pull off the upset.
