Box Score 2 UT Permian Basin Tennis is already showing promise for the spring season, especially along their top line on the men's and women's sides.
Teodora Vrucan earned her first win of the spring in three sets while forcing a tiebreaker in doubles action. On the men's side
Enrique Sanchez had a very closely contested battle with Southeastern Oklahoma State before falling. In doubles Sanchez combined with
Fernando Siqueira for the win.
The men took the doubles point with
Paul Schwieger and
Jorge Garcia teamming up to grab the win in the two spot, along with the victory by Sanchez and Siqueira. While the singles portion didn't go the Falcons way Sanchez battled hard as did
Roberto Garcia. He after the first two sets needed a tiebreaker he fell in a tight third and final set.
Vrucan won a closely contested battle by taking the final set 6-2.
Krystal Smith forced a third set after sweeping set two but couldn't hold off her opponent late. In doubles Vrucan and
Brooke Runyan forced a tiebreaker before falling in their match.
