Box Score 2 It was close but in the end the freshman doubles team of
Teodora Vrucan and
Brooke Runyan pulled off their biggest upset of the season for UT Permian Basin Tennis. Playing as the No. 2 doubles pairing, they knocked off their foes from Tarleton State. In the end they won the set 7-6 after winning the tiebreaker 7-5.
Lore Mewis battled hard in her singles match against the host Texans. She forced a third set tiebreaker as did Runyan in her singles match. Runyan won her first set before falling in the tiebreaker against a Division I team.
Earlier in the day the Falcons faced UT Rio Grande Valley. Runyan also forced a third set, falling in the tiebreaker 10-8.
Krystal Smith and
Lisa Guitton both took six games from their respective opponents against the Vaqueros.
