Trailing by 10 at the half,
Alexus Wykoff and
Holly Hemmeline led UT Permian Basin Women's Basketball in the second half to force overtime at St. Edward's on Monday. Wykoff led the Falcons with 18 points including the layup that sent the teams into overtime. Hemmeline scored 12 points including a three to put the Falcons ahead in overtime with 2:09 left.

Both teams were off to slow starts offensively as the first basket wasn't made until the 7:49 mark of the game.
Avalon Munoz collected the first basket of the game for the Falcons off of a steal from
Kamari Portalis.

The Falcons started the second quarter on a 6-2 run, getting two points each from
Ally Haman, Munoz, and
Morgan Helgesen. Despite the fast start, the Falcons went into the locker room down 10.

After a basket by the Hilltoppers the Falcons went on a 9-0 run to close the gap to a one score game as Helgesen,
Alexus Quaadman, and Wykoff all scored during the run. Portalis hit a three with 55 seconds left in the quarter to narrow the gap to four.

The Falcons tied the game on the strength of a 10-3 run including a pair of threes by Hemmeline. Both teams had trouble scoring in the final minutes of the game, but Wykoff had the hot hand as she scored the final six points including the bucket that sent the game into overtime at 52-52.

In overtime, Wykoff kept the scoring going for the Falcons hitting the next four points and giving the Falcons a three-point lead 56-53. But it wasn't enough as the Hilltoppers were able to make a few tough shots at the end and win 67-63.

Munoz led the team with seven rebounds and seven assists while Portalis had four steals to lead the Falcons in that category.
