UT Permian Basin Men's Basketball jumped all over St. Mary's early on Saturday, building a 21-point halftime lead for their fourth home win of the 2021-22 season.  Four Falcons finished with at least 10 points and DaJuan Jones finished an assist shy of another double-double.
 
It took over two minutes to see the first points of the ballgame before Jones knocked down a three and was fouled for a four-point play.  A three from Jordan Horn and a Max Warren layup had the Falcons up nine before the Rattlers got on the board.  Miles Daniels buried a three and Quinntez Grimes hit a jumper to push the lead to 13 as the defense suffocated the Rattlers.  Back-to-back threes by Kendal Frey to close the half sent the Falcons into the locker room up 38-17.  The Falcons held the Rattlers to 27.6 percent shooting in the half. 
 
Another three by Daniels pushed the lead to 24 before the Rattlers made a run to climb back into the game.  They trimmed the Falcon lead down to just one while shooting over 70 percent as a team with nine minutes to go but the Falcons responded.  Lemmie Howard knocked down a jumper before Horn and Frey went back-to-back from long range to once again lead by nine.  The Rattlers kept things interesting but after that run the outcome was never in question for the 76-68 final.
 
Horn led the team with 18 points and hit four three-pointers.  He was followed by Frey with 15 points and five rebounds.  Daniels finished with 14 points with three steals.  Jones had 12 points and nine assists.  Howard had a strong game with eight points and seven boards.
