2020-21: Started all 14 games he played in as a freshman... Finished the season averaging 8.9 points per game and 4.4 rebounds... Finished fourth on the team in points per game and fifth in rebounds per game...  Scored 16 points in collegiate debut at UT Tyler (12/11)… Scored 10 points at UT Tyler (12/12)… Blocked four shots and pulled down six rebounds against UAFS (1/2)… Scored seven points with nine rebounds and three blocks against UAFS (1/3)... Scored 16 points on 6-of-8 shooting against West Texas A&M (1/14)... Exploded for career-high 21 points and eight rebounds in upset win over No. 11 DBU (1/29)... Scored in double figures six times.
 
High School: Ranked among the top-50 players in Texas.  Averaged 15 points, 11 rebounds and 2.5 blocks per game.  He led District 12-4A in blocks in both his junior and senior seasons.  Grimes earned a spot on the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches 4A All-Region Team as a senior and was a 12-4A All-District First Team selection his junior and senior seasons.
