The Falcons are coming off of their best offensive performance as a team in their four-year history after a 60-7 week one victory against Wayland Baptist. The team broke the previous mark of 49 points set during the inaugural season in 2016 against Arizona Christian.

UTPB made it count on both sides of the ball last weekend, scoring a pair of defensive touchdowns to go with six offensive TD's. Kobe Robinson and Kyle McBride had a pair of receiving touchdowns in the first quarter, helping the Falcons to a 17-7 advantage. Kadarryus Hartfield made it a three possession game late in the first quarter with a 26-yard interception return for a touchdown in his first game as a Falcon.

Marquis Simmons and Rocky Barnes each found the end zone in the second quarter for the Falcon offense, and an eight-yard safety forced by Logo Kaleopa made it a 39-7 game at halftime.

The third quarter belonged to freshman running back Gabe Nelson. Nelson scored a pair of touchdowns on his first two carries of his career, finding the end zone first on a seven-yard rush for his first action of the night. His second carry resulted in a 45-yard touchdown late in the third quarter to help the Falcons to a 53-7 lead.

Clifton Holmes added the team's second defensive score of the night for the only points of the fourth quarter, returning an interception for a 67-yard touchdown with 10 minutes remaining in the game.

Kyle McBride led the Falcons with six catches for 123 yards and a touchdown on the night despite playing just the first half. Leroy Giles was the team's leading rusher, running for 73 yards on only six carries. The team's 10 ball carriers on the night rank for 232 yards on 43 carries, averaging 5.4 yards per rush as a team.

UTPB looks to get revenge this week for a 27-22 week two loss on the road at Northern Michigan. The Falcons made the flight to Marquette, Michigan, for their first matchup against the Wildcats in 2018.

Mitchell Leonard had a pair of receiving touchdowns for UTPB, and Ben Galaviz returns after recording an 18-yard touchdown in the second quarter against the Wildcats.

Defensive End John O'Kelley will be looking to repeat his stat line from last year. O'Kelley recorded 13 tackles against Northern Michigan, making three sacks and five tackles-for-loss on the road at the Superior Dome.

Northern Michigan enters this week coming off of a 30-9 victory at home against McKendree. The Wildcats scored the final 20 points of the game in the second half to pull away late in a 21-point opening-week victory.

Ryan Johnson completed 10-of-14 passes on the day for 130 and tossed three touchdowns on the afternoon to three different receivers. Tyshon King paced the Wildcats backfield, averaging 6.2 yards per carry for 80 yards on 13 carries with a touchdown.
