UT Permian Basin cross country coach
Alick Musukuma announced three signees for the 2019 season on Monday. Eric Flores-Burciaga, Salma Gutierrez and Sergio Hernandez will run for the Falcons starting in the fall.
"I am positive that all these athletes will come and help both the men's and women's cross country teams," said Musukuma, "I am extremely excited for these athletes to come to UTPB."
Flores-Burciaga comes from Hagerman High School in Hagerman, New Mexico where he finished with times of 1:59 in the 800 m, 4:31.57 in the 1600 m, 9:52.49 in the 3200 m and 15:31 in the 5000 m. Flores-Burciaga also placed 13th at the state cross country championships.
Gutierrez comes from Bandera High School in Bandera, Texas where she was a state qualifier and ran a time of 11:18.85 in the 3200 m.
Hernandez is from Eagle Pass High School in Eagle Pass, Texas where he was a regional qualifier with times of 4:35.22 in the 1600 m, 9:55 in the 3200 m, 14:14 in the three mile and 15:56.58 in the 5000 m.
