The UT Permian Basin women's tennis team opened their season in Colorado this past weekend by splitting four matches for a 2-2 record.

The team opened their season with a win over Colorado State - Pueblo, the first time the women's team in school history.  Doubles teams of Madison Hoelting- Stephanie Prats and Jessica Madamba- Anastasia Obreque picked up wins to get the team a point.  In the other doubles match, Maria Briones and Amelie Saint-Dizier fell 9-8 (6).  Paulina Obreque, Anastasia Obreque and Madamba earned wins in singles for the 4-3 team victory.

On Friday the team faced off with Metro State - Denver where they were defeated 6-1.  They followed that match with a 7-0 loss on Saturday to Colorado Mesa.  The doubles team of Saint-Dizier and Stephanie Prats held their own in a 9-7 defeat. 

The team bounced back in their second match of the day on Saturday by defeating Colorado College 5-2.  The team was powered by a pair of doubles wins from the teams of Hoelting - Madamba and P. Obreque- A. Obreque.  Prats, Hoelting, P. Obreque and A. Obreque each won their singles matches for the victory.
