Senior guard Daeshon Francis was named a National Association of Basketball Coaches Division II All-American as the NABC released their 2018 All-America Team. This is was selected and voted on by member coaches of the NABC in Division II. Francis was also named a Basketball Times Second-Team All-American.
Francis, a 6-foot-2 guard from Indianapolis, Ind., was the D2CCA South Central Region Player of the Year in 2017 & 2018, while also taking home the Lone Star Conference (LSC) Player of the Year each of the past two seasons. Francis averaged 21.9 points per game to lead the LSC in scoring and ended the regular season ranked fourth in the conference in rebounding at 8.0 per game. He showed his versatility by also dishing out four assists per game, sending back 20 blocks and swiping 55 steals, all second-best on the team. Francis scored in double-figures in every game this year and scored at least 20 points in 21 games and ended the year with 11 double-doubles. He scored a school record 43 points to help the Falcons advance to the South Central Region Finals in a four overtime, 130-124 win over Regis, and scored a team-high 31 points in a Sweet Sixteen loss to West Texas A&M
