Javelinas Limit Offense in 56-7 Loss

Texas A&M - Kingsville held the UT Permian Basin offense in check Saturday night, sending the Falcons home with a 56-7 loss on the road in Lone Star Conference action in Kingsville, Texas.

A near constant this season, the Javelinas limited UTPB to just five first half rushing yards in taking a 28-0 lead at halftime.

A big fourth down conversion in the first drive of the second half for UTPB helped lead to points for the Falcons. Caden Coots found Terell Davidson for 40 yards on a 4th and 5 situation from the UTPB 30 down to the Kingsville 30 yard line. UTPB used seven straight rushing plays capped by a two-yard run from Marquise Simmons to score on an 11 play, 75 yard drive.

The Falcons got a pair of interceptions in the second quater. Montique Coles intercepted a ball in the end zone on the first play of the second half, and Chris Hoad intercepted a pass at the Kingsville 26 and returned it 10 yards into the red zone.

Simmons led the Falcons with 75 yards rushing on the evening, while Davidson's 40 yard catch led the UTPB receivers. Hoad once again led the UTPB defense, ending the night with three solo tackles and eight assists.
