Missy Jackson put up a season-high 22 points on 9-of-12 shooting to lead the University of Texas of the Permian Basin women's basketball team to a 94-76 win over Texas A&M International in Heartland Conference action.

The Falcons rode their momentum in the first half after scoring 58 points thanks to 10 three-pointers. UTPB would hit just one of the 12 it attempted in the second half, but it didn't matter as the Dustdevils struggled from long range, hitting just 1-of-10 for the game.

After starting the game with three turnovers, the Falcons found themselves down 6-2 less than three minutes in, but they would go on a 39-13 run over the next 10 minutes to lead 41-19 with 7:38 to play before the break. During that stretch, UTPB drained six three-pointers including two each by Lauren Unger and Andrea Chavez. They would finish with 12 and 11 points respectively. The Falcons would eventually take a 58-35 lead into the locker room at halftime.

UTPB would extend its lead to 30 on five different occasions, including a 71-37 advantage with 16:18 to go. Cashena Mathis hit a 12-footer with 9:29 to go to make it 81-51, but the Dustdevils would out-score the Falcons 25-13 the rest of the way.

The Falcons shot 44.6 percent from the field and out-rebounded A&M International 40-34. As usual, UTPB relied on its press as it tallied 16 steals and scored 32 points off turnovers.

With the win, UTPB improved to 17-5 overall and sit atop the Heartland Conference with a 6-1 league mark. They will hit the road on Feb. 10 when they take on Arkansas-Fort Smith.
