SAN ANTONIO – Kaylen Gerkey scored her first goal of the season at the 71^st minute which proved to the game winner as The University of Texas of the Permian Basin took a 2-1 victory over St. Mary's. 
 
The Rattlers struck quickly as Kaitie Kasperitis scored an unassisted goal eight minutes into action to give them an early lead.  St. Mary's would go into the half with a 1-0 edge before Hannah Dozier tied the contest 10 minutes into the second half. 
 
The Falcons were out-shot 19-7, but made them count as Dozier and Gerkey both took two shots each. 
 
Alexis Frueh stopped 10 shots in goal as the Falcons improved to 2-9 overall and 1-3 in Heartland Conference play.
