AS A SOPHOMORE: Was second on the team in total points with 13 after scoring four goals while dishing out five assists in the 19 games she appeared in…Took 22 shots, which was fourth-most on the team, 18 of which were on goal which was tied for second-most on the squad.

PRIOR TO UTPB: Started her only season with the University of Arizona club team…Helped lead the team to a second-place finish nationally…Was a member of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars and was named to the Dean’s List.

HIGH SCHOOL: Won four letters at Phoenix Christian High School in Phoenix, Ariz…Was a member of the boy’s soccer team all four years and was a team captain her senior season…Was also named to the all-region second team as a senior…Also garnered three letters in softball and one in tennis…In softball, was named the Rookie of the Year and was given the Golden Spikes award…In tennis, was named the MVP…Was the school’s salutatorian, a member of the National Honor Society and was named Who’s Who Among American High School Students.

PERSONAL: Kaylen Gerkey was born April 12, 1990 in Phoenix, Ariz…Is the daughter of Robert and Julie Gerkey of Phoenix…Played soccer in the Netherlands with People to People in 2002…Her club team took fourth in the state of Arizona in 2008…Majoring in history and math.
