Danae Eckart, junior libero for The University of Texas of the Permian Basin volleyball team, was named the Heartland Conference Libero of the Week for her performance in the Falcons' last three matches.  She is receiving the honor for the second time this season and is the only UTPB player thus far to be honored by the league office. 
 
The Carson City, Nev. native picked up a total of 84 digs, averaging 8.40 per set and had over 20 digs in each of the three matches.  In a 3-1 win over Newman, Eckart tallied 38 digs, one off her career high while picking up 22 and 24 against Arkansas-Fort Smith and Central Oklahoma.  Even more impressively, the final two matches of the week went three sets. 
 
Before last week's matches, Eckart ranked 17^th nationally in digs per set with 5.49, just .27 from being in the top-10 in the country. 
 
Eckart has now posted at least 20 digs in a match 13 times this season, including her last five contests.  Her and the rest of the Falcons will return home to host St. Mary's at 7 p.m. on Thursday in the Falcon Dome followed by a Saturday date with Texas A&M International at noon.
