ODESSA, Texas (December 16, 2025) –
Isabel Rodriguez and
Lauren Demuth of The University of Texas Permian Basin volleyball team were each named to the 2025-26 Academic All-District® Team, selected by College Sports Communicators.
Isabel Rodriguez is a junior libero and is a human performance major with a 3.77 cumulative GPA. Rodriguez played in all 27 matches and was third on the team with 228 digs (2.85 D/S). She finished with season-highs of 30 digs and 10 assists in a 3-2 loss vs. Southern Nazarene in the second match of the season and was just seven digs shy of breaking into the team's top-five single-match digs record. During the first day of the season, she averaged 5.88 digs per set across two matches on her first day being the team's libero. She then finished with 28 digs in UTPB's first win of the season, a 3-0 win over Arkansas-Monticello, to wrap up the season-opening tournament. Rodriguez transferred to UTPB last Spring from Texas A&M University-Kingsville and earned the 2025 D2 ADA Academic Achievement Award. She made it to the 2023 LSC Tournament Championship and to the first round of the NCAA Division II Tournament with TAMUK.
Lauren Demuth is a sophomore middle hitter and is a history major with a 3.61 GPA. Demuth played in all 27 matches this season and started in all but two of those matches. She was second on the team with 95 sets played and led the team with 60 total blocks. Her 21 solo blocks led the team by 14. Demuth was also second on the team in points (240.5); was tied for second in points per set (2.53); was third in service aces (18); and was fourth in kills (182), kills per set (1.92) and hitting percentage (.197). Demuth had double-digit kills in five matches, hit over .300 in five matches, and had at least three blocks in eight matches this season. She had six blocks this season in a 3-1 win vs. Texas A&M-Kingsville (Nov. 15) and had seven blocks in a 3-2 win vs. Eastern New Mexico (Nov. 1). She was named to the 2025 LSC Preseason Players to Watch list for defense, was named to the 2024 Lone Star Conference All-Freshman Team as a middle hitter, and was named to the Spring 2025 Lone Star Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll.

The 2025-26 Academic All-District® Volleyball Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. To be eligible for CSC Academic All-District, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically, hold a cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or higher and must be a standout in competition. Eligible nominees must compete in 90 percent of the institution's games played OR must start in at least 66 percent of the institution's games. Liberos, although not counted in stats as a starter, may be counted as such for nominating purposes.
