ODESSA, Texas (May 20, 2026) – The University of Texas Permian Basin sports information office earned a district win in the 2025-26 CSC Fred Stabley Sr. Writing Contest. UTPB's Athletics Communication Specialist, Brandon Warr, was announced as the winner in the General Feature/Blog category for the District 6 – College Division. This is Warr's second CSC Fred Stabley Sr. Writing Contest award after earning his first last year in the in the Coach/Administrator Profile category.

The award was earned for Warr's feature story on former UTPB Alum Arath Brito, on March 8, 2025.

The contest was split into University and College divisions, allowing the recognition of the work done by members from smaller offices and those who work on NCAA Division I staffs.

District winners advance to the national ballot, with national winners in each of the categories to be announced later this month.

All writing had to have an original publish date between January 1-December 31, 2025, to be eligible.
