Brandon Warr enters his third year as Athletics Communication Specialist at UT Permian Basin in 2025-26.
Warr co-manages the utpbfalcons.com website and main UT Permian Basin athletic social media accounts. While also in collaboration with others on the communications team, oversees production and publication of communication/public relations materials and related athletic communication. Assists with the design of consistent methodologies for the development of athletic messages.
Warr organizes athletics-related press conferences and serves as the media contact for UTPB athletics and coordinates interviews with coaches and student-athletes. He also leads content creation for weekly athletics e-newsletter, writes, reviews, and assures appropriate distribution of communication/public relations materials that have a community-wide impact including student-athlete success stories, email marketing campaigns, blogs, and articles.
Prior to UTPB Warr was at Western Colorado University serving as assistant Sports Information Director from 2021-23. Warr was the primary contact for football, women's soccer, track & field (indoor / outdoor), women's basketball and men's basketball. Co managed the gomountaineers.com website and social media accounts, while being head of video content creation for the department.
Warr came to Western Colorado after being the sports editor for the Gunnison Country Times Newspaper from 2017-2021, where he was a seven-time award winning sports editor. He also coached on the Western Colorado football staff as a volunteer coach in 2019 & 2020 and was brought on full-time before the start of the 2021 season. During the 2021 football season Western Colorado finished 10-1, were RMAC champions and made it to the NCAA Division II football playoffs.
Warr graduated from Western Colorado University in 2016 with a Bachelor’s degree in Communication Arts emphasis in Strategic Communications and a minor in exercise sports science. Warr was also a member of the Western Colorado football team from 2014-16.
